Learn new platforms, get certifications, grow into leadership. We invest in automation careers.
Work directly with leadership and customers. Your voice matters here.
Benefits
Our automation engineer jobs come with benefits designed for professionals who travel and work hard:
Culture
iAutomate was founded by automation engineers who were tired of the typical integrator experience: understaffed projects, impossible timelines, and management that's never touched a PLC.
We built a different kind of automation company:
Leadership comes from engineering backgrounds. Decisions are made by people who've commissioned lines at 3 AM.
We don't take on more automation projects than we can handle well. Realistic timelines, proper staffing.
Stuck on a problem? Call another engineer. We're collaborative, not competitive.
Travel is part of automation careers, but we're not shipping you out 48 weeks a year.
Requirements
What we look for in automation engineer candidates:
Don't meet every requirement? If you have strong automation skills and a track record of solving problems, we want to hear from you.

Most automation engineer positions require 40-60% travel, primarily within the Midwest (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois). Some projects may require extended travel to other states. We cover all travel expenses including hotels, flights, per diem, and mileage. You keep your loyalty points.
Automation engineering is hands-on work—most of our positions require on-site presence for commissioning and troubleshooting. However, some project engineering and programming roles allow partial remote work between on-site assignments. We're flexible where the work allows it.
Our interview process is straightforward: 1) Phone screen with our team lead (30 min), 2) Technical interview discussing your experience and approach to problems (1 hour), 3) Optional on-site visit to meet the team. We respect your time and move quickly—typically 1-2 weeks from application to offer.
We cannot guarantee that candidates will obtain a work visa, but we are open to providing TN visa sponsorship.
Manufacturer certifications are valued—GCC certified, GVOSS certified—we'll help you get certified after joining. Helpful certifications include: FANUC Certified Robot Operator, Rockwell Automation certifications, Siemens Certified Professional, and OSHA 30. We pay for certifications and training.
